As Website and Communications Officer for Malvern Hills Dirstict Council I was responsible for dealing with press enquiries, writing press quotes and statements and proactively promoting the council.
I wrote press comments, press releases, advertorials, newsletters, a style guide and wrote and edited council web copy. I was also responsible for managing social media accounts and growing the council’s social media presence.
I used alterian and sharepoint and trained council officers in writing effectively for the web, providing advice and technical support. I was also involved in a web project to improve and enhance the user journey, helping to improve the navigation of the new site including beta site testing.
